Tincan Island Port Sets ₦16.4bn Single-Day Revenue Record with B' odogwu Platform

The Tincan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a historic revenue collection of ₦16.41 billion in a single day, made possible through the deployment of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B' odogwu.

According to a statement released on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs Oscar Ivara, the revenue milestone was achieved on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, described the achievement as a clear demonstration of how technology and collaboration are reshaping port operations in Nigeria.

“This landmark collection reflects the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of the B' odogwu system in streamlining port operations,” Comptroller Onyeka said. “It has drastically improved access to payment platforms and enabled licensed Customs agents and stakeholders to complete clearance processes in real-time, free from unnecessary delays and bottlenecks.”

The Bodogwu system integrates critical elements of port and Customs operations into a single digital interface, allowing for faster processing, accurate valuation, and enhanced monitoring of cargo activities. This has created a more predictable and efficient environment for both the Command and port users.

Onyeka emphasized that the record-breaking figure goes beyond revenue, noting that it underscores the game-changing role of technology in port modernization. He further attributed the success to the Command’s close collaboration with terminal operators, shipping companies, licensed Customs agents, and regulatory agencies.

“Our coordinated approach ensures seamless, compliant, and business-friendly clearance processes. This achievement is proof that when stakeholders work together under an efficient system, everyone benefits,” he added.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing trade facilitation, securing government revenue, and supporting port users with timely and cost-effective cargo clearance.
