    Victoria Silvanus The Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has intercepted a large cache of smuggled goods, including 1,306 sacks of expired noodles, 3,300 explosive cartridges, illicit drugs, foreign rice and smuggled vehicles, with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦365.16 million. Speaking during a press briefing at the Seme Border in Badagry, Lagos State, on Tuesday, the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Abdullahi Shuaibu Kaila, said the seizures were a testament to the Command's commitment to protecting Nigeria's economy, public health and national security. SNFFIEC Raises Alarm Over NSC Seminar for Judges, Demands Accountability

Victoria Silvanus The Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders, Importers and Exporters Coalition (SNFFIEC) has threatened to mobilize its members for a protest against the planned 18th International Maritime Seminar for Judges being organized by the Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC). The coalition described the annual seminar as a misplaced priority, arguing that the Council should channel its resources toward addressing the numerous challenges confronting freight forwarders, importers, exporters and other port users across the country. Speaking on behalf of the coalition, its National Coordinator, Chief Osita Chukwu, criticized the Nigerian Shippers' Council for continuing to organize judicial seminars while many stakeholders are yet to feel the full impact of the Council's role as the nation's port economic regulator.
