Victoria Silvanus The Apapa Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has recorded its highest-ever daily revenue collection, generating ₦28.1 billion within 24 hours and further strengthening the Federal Government's revenue drive for national development. The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed that the Command collected a total of ₦28,102,000,914.61 on August 18, 2026, surpassing its previous single-day revenue record of ₦20.1 billion achieved in September 2025. Speaking during a press briefing at the Seme Border in Badagry, Lagos State, on Tuesday, the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Abdullahi Shuaibu Kaila, said the seizures were a testament to the Command's commitment to protecting Nigeria's economy, public health and national security. Addressing journalists on the seizures, the Comptroller of FOU Zone ‘A’, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu, said the Unit remained committed to protecting Nigeria’s economy and preventing the influx of prohibited items into the country. “These seizures are a clear demonstration of our resolve to protect the nation’s economy, safeguard public health, support local industries, and ensure that smugglers do not profit from illegal activities at the expense of law-abiding Nigerians,” Aliyu said.
